- Libyan Attorney General ordered the arrest of an airline official on charges of helping to illegally transport migrants to the United States via Nicaragua. The commercial director of Ghadames Air was under investigation for “committing an activity harmful to the interests of the country,” said a statement from the Tripoli-based Attorney General’s office, which did not name the suspect. It said Ghadames Air had transported hundreds of people to the Central American country of Nicaragua, who intended to then illegally enter the United States. Ghadames Air is a private airline founded in 2021 and headquartered in Tripoli, according to the company’s website.

- The National Development Agency Chairman Dr. Mahmoud Milad has announced a landmark investment in Libya’s industrial future with the launch of Tosyalı SULB’s world-class Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) complex in Benghazi. This expansion solidifies Tosyalı’s influence in the Mediterranean basin and marks a significant milestone in its global growth strategy.

UN Deputy Envoy to Libya, Stephanie Koury, has said she had “constructive talks” in Cairo with the Foreign Minister of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, and other Egyptian officials responsible for the Libyan file. “We discussed ways to reinvigorate the political process to end the current stalemate and put the country on a path of general elections,” Koury stated on X. “We aligned on the need to preserve Libya’s unity and sovereignty, as well as the importance of coordinating international initiatives aimed at supporting Libyans in overcoming the current crisis and achieving sustained peace and stability,” she added.

U.S. political and military officials have met with the Libyan outgoing Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh where they discussed regional security and Libyan military unification, according to US Embassy in Tripoli. “U.S. AFRICOM Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General John Brennan, U.S. Special Operations Command Africa Commander, Rear Admiral Ronald Foy, and Chargé d’Affaires Berndt were pleased to meet with GNU Prime Minister Dabaiba today,” the Embassy said. “We discussed the regional security situation and the importance of working together with professional military officers across all of Libya to protect Libya’s sovereignty, to take tangible steps toward military reunification, and to help Libyans rebuild a unified, stable, and prosperous Libya,” it pointed out.
