The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Libya has evacuated 150 refugees and asylum-seekers from Libya to Rwanda. The organization said the process was part of its efforts to find durable solutions for migrants, such as resettlement to third countries or voluntary return.

- UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, stressed the importance of the role played by the Libyan Presidential Council (LPC) in creating a state of consensus between the local parties as a neutral body that stands at the same distance from all parties, according to LPC Media Office.

British ambassador to Libya has said her country fully supports the Libya elections-enabling mechanism proposed by the UN envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, during his briefing to the Security Council last week. “Great to see Bathily in Tripoli this week after his briefing in New York. UK fully supports his plan and commitment to building a more inclusive political process where Libyan voices are heard. Creating broader national consensus is essential to leading Libya to elections,” Hurndall tweeted.
- A senior military source revealed that the Chief of Staff of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Lieutenant General Abdul Razeq Al Nadhouri, and the Chief of Staff of the outgoing Government of National Unity (GNU), Lieutenant General Muhammad Al Haddad, will work to integrate militants into the military or civil institutions.
- Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya, Georgette Gagnon, held talks with the office staff of International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Benghazi to discuss “IOM’s vital life-saving protection and psychosocial support to vulnerable migrants in host communities,” according to Gagnon. In a statement via Twitter, Gagnon said she “witnessed hard-working IOM staff assisting migrants wishing to return home through IOM’s Voluntary Humanitarian Return programme”.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
- Head of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, met with the South Korean Ambassador to Libya, Lee Sang-soo, and the Economic Attache at the Embassy, in the presence of the directors of the competent departments of the Bureau. The two sides discussed during their meeting ways of cooperation in implementing the obligations of Korean companies in favor of the Libyan state, and setting up the necessary mechanism and procedures for that, according to the Bureau media office.
