In Tripoli, avideo published by the Military Information Division of the Libyan National Army showed on Saturday that the LNA units still control the Tripoli International Airport.According to the Information Division, armed groups allied with the Tripoli-based government of Fayez al-Sirraj have failed in more than 20 attacks to take over the strategic airport.

On the international level, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has welcomed the initiative launched by Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez al-Sirraj, to end the two-month long conflict in the capital.
AL-DAFINIYA
- a source from the Misrata Airbase denied that Khalifa Haftar’s forces had downed Air Force aircraft at Al-Dafiniya in west of the city, saying the aircraft had experienced a mechanical failure after taking off. The source added that the pilot was killed in the incident as he tried to land some 20 km away from Misrata. - Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said his country has strongly supported the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame to heal the rift between the Libyans. “The only solution to unite Libya is by supporting the efforts of the United Nations,” Çavuşoğlu said. He emphasized in a press statement that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is the legitimate government recognized by the United Nations and his country will continue support for the GNA for these reasons. - Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat has called for greater cooperation with the United Nations in order to resolve the Libyan crisis. Muscat said Friday during the 6th South EU Summit in Malta that the escalation of violence in Libya poses a threat to the stability of his country and the region, which in turn, would contribute to increasing the threat of terrorism.
