NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUES
- The General Investigations Department of the Ajdabiya Security Directorate has arrested one of the individuals involved in bringing and housing illegal immigrants inside his private garage in the city. This came as part of the continuous efforts to combat the phenomenon of human trafficking and illegal immigration. The Directorate explained that the operation was carried out after meticulous investigations and field follow-up. The location was raided in coordination with the Public Prosecution, and the suspect was arrested along with a red “Tundra” vehicle. In addition, 14 individuals of Egyptian nationality, who had entered the country illegally in preparation for being smuggled to Europe, were found.

The Public Order Prosecution, within the jurisdiction of the Tobruk Court of Appeal, conducted a site visit prompted by information from the Tobruk Security Directorate regarding a location used to store fuel before coordinating its smuggling abroad.
Inspection Results
The verification of the site and individuals resulted in identifying the circle of suspects managing the activity and a deeper understanding of their motives, with the seizure of one hundred and nineteen containers used to store two hundred and thirty-eight thousand liters of fuel.Prosecution’s Actions
The Public Prosecution ordered the seizure of the assets at the operation’s location, initiated public proceedings against three defendants arrested during the inspection, and directed the pursuit of the remaining individuals involved in the incident.
- The Media Department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that the Public Prosecution, within the jurisdiction of the Tobruk Court of Appeal, has received the results of a security operation conducted by the Tobruk Security Directorate, which resulted in the seizure of a large warehouse in the city used by a criminal gang to collect and smuggle fuel. The Public Prosecution stated that it inspected 119 containers holding approximately 238,000 liters of fuel, stored in a hideout for use in smuggling operations. The Public Prosecution ordered that a criminal case be filed against three individuals arrested at the warehouse site and directed the pursuit of the other suspects involved in the case.

The President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed al-Menfi, met with the President of the High Council of State, Mohammed Takala. According to the council’s media office, the meeting involved a discussion of the latest political, security, and economic developments and the challenges facing the current phase, with an emphasis on the importance of national consensus to complete the political track and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people. During the meeting, the political vision presented by the President of the Presidential Council in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly was reviewed. They also discussed ways to accelerate the pace of work on unifying sovereign positions in a manner that enhances the performance of state institutions and ensures their effectiveness. The two sides also addressed the efforts being made to support stability in the capital, Tripoli, and affirmed the continuation of consultation and joint coordination in a way that serves the state’s highest interests and creates the appropriate climate for holding the upcoming constitutional and electoral entitlements.
- A member of the High National Elections Commission, Abubaker Marada, confirmed that the Commission will announce the date for holding the municipal council elections for the “third group” next week, in exclusive statements to “Fawasel.” Marada indicated that the announcement will be made next week. He noted that there is positive communication from the two governments regarding support for the “third group” elections.
- A high-level meeting was held at the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City, presided over by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, and the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar. The meeting included the chiefs of staff for the service branches, in addition to the heads of various departments and authorities within the Armed Forces. During the meeting, the progress of work within the military’s various commands, departments, and authorities was reviewed. The attendees also discussed comprehensive development and modernization plans, which are based on implementing advanced training and qualification programs aimed at raising the efficiency of Armed Forces personnel and enhancing the combat readiness of various units.

An economic report by “African Manager” has described Libya and Tunisia as “gateways to Africa” for their collaboration on establishing a strategic project for the region. It quoted Tunisian expert in growth and internationalization strategies, Walid Kaskassi, who stated that the project represents a “trade corridor extending for thousands of kilometers,” connecting Tunisia with several sub-Saharan African countries and thereby enhancing Libya’s role in transit transport. The corridor combines the modernization of existing roads with the creation of new infrastructure, along with improving port facilities and logistics services to ensure the rapid and safe transit of goods. It also includes deploying traffic monitoring and management systems to improve flow and reduce delays, according to Kaskassi. According to Kaskassi, the project will be funded by a mix of Tunisian and Libyan public funds, with support from international financial institutions. Authorities in Libya and Tunisia will provide strategic oversight through a joint committee managing operations.
- The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a large delegation yesterday comprising sheikhs, elders, and notables from the tribes of the Eastern, Central, and Southeastern regions. The meeting was held at the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City, in the presence of the Head of the Libyan Government, Dr. Osama Hammad, and the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar. This meeting is part of the General Command’s commitment to maintaining continuous communication with all segments of Libyan society and affirms the pivotal role of the tribes in supporting the country’s path to stability and peace. During the meeting, the tribal sheikhs, elders, and notables reaffirmed their full and continuous support for the Armed Forces in its efforts to protect the homeland and preserve its sovereignty. The delegation praised the General Commander’s constant engagement with Libyan tribes and expressed deep appreciation for the role the Armed Forces plays in establishing security and stability across Libya.
